Julalikari Council Construction Unit is seeking an experienced Administration Officer to support the Construction Unit with all administrative procedures and scheduling to ensure efficient, consistent and timely operations.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm and 2:30pm on Fridays.

Tasks will include:

Undertaking the majority of administrative tasks within the Construction Unit, including:

  • Assist with the ordering of materials / supplies and their delivery
  • Process incoming invoices and submitting paperwork to finance
  • Processing maintenance requests, work orders, job cards, drafting of quotes and invoices
  • Maintain daily operations of the Construction Office and assist in controlling of access to the construction yard
  • Assist with the tracking of jobs and their completion to ensure timely invoicing and reporting
  • Maintain a filing system
  • Answer phones, reply to emails and handle walk-in enquiries


  • Open Class C Driver Licence required
  • Good communication skills – verbal and written
  • Good computer skills – particularly email, document templates and excel spreadsheets
  • Work individually or as part of a team
  • White Card or ability to acquire
  • Working with Children clearance (Ochre Card) or ability to acquire
  • Current National Police Clearance


  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction industry
  • Experience with infrastructure projects
  • Qualifications in project administration or project management
