Night Patrols have been a part of community life in Tennant Creek going back to the 1980’s, making the program here one of the oldest in the Northern Territory.

The Ankini Wirranjiki team continues to play a vital role in community safety, while successfully referring clients to external service providers for follow-up support.

The team is comprised entirely of Indigenous people, and we have been delighted to provide full-time employment to 4 Community Development Program participants during the past year.

New staff are undergoing their Certificate 3 in Community Night Patrol courses, and morale has been boosted with bright new uniforms that look smart and professional!
