Community Programs & Services
Julalikari delivers a broad range of community programs that strengthen connection, wellbeing, and self-determination for Aboriginal people across Tennant Creek and the Barkly region. Our services support families, young people, and Elders through culturally appropriate, community-controlled programs designed around what our community needs.
Employment & Training
Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation is one of the largest employers in the Barkly region. We support local Aboriginal people into real, paid employment and build skills through structured programs, including the Real Jobs Program (in partnership with the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation), the Karguru Nursery, and the Land Management Unit.
Aged Care Services
Julalikari provides Home Care support services for eligible elderly Aboriginal community members in Tennant Creek and surrounding areas. Our aged care team delivers in-home and community-based supports to help Elders live independently and comfortably. Note: Aged care and disability support are separate services — please contact us to discuss your specific needs.
Infrastructure & Municipal Services
Julalikari delivers Housing, Municipal and Essential Services (HMES) across the seven Community Living Areas surrounding Tennant Creek. Our Technical Services team manages essential services including road maintenance, waste management, and electricity and water infrastructure across the CLAs. We also undertake external contracts and grounds maintenance work across the region.
Land Management & Karguru Nursery
Julalikari's Land Management Unit (LMU) and Karguru Nursery connect Warumungu people with Country through land care, environmental management, and cultural stewardship. The LMU employs local Aboriginal people in meaningful, on-country work through the Real Jobs Program, funded by the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC). The Karguru Nursery grows native plants and supports revegetation and environmental programs across the Barkly region.

Children & Family Services
Julalikari delivers a wide range of support for children and families across the Barkly region. We work with families to give children the best start in life — through early childhood development, family capacity building, and connection to culture and community. Our team supports families through all stages, from pregnancy and early years through to school and beyond.
